                &lt;li&gt;Here we are already one sixth of the way through 2012. We've been busy getting back on the road and finalising plans for the year ahead. We've missed getting a Newsletter out so far this year but make up for it with this offering for February/ March.&lt;/li&gt;
                &lt;li&gt;Amy, Anthony and Kim went to Grenfell for an iKiBlast a couple of weeks ago and we've also commenced iKiCrew training at Trangie. If anybody is looking to recharge their batteries with a bit of old fashioned friendliness and calm, I highly recommend both of these towns. Just plain nice, - and I love that word. Nice is nice!!&lt;/li&gt;
                &lt;li&gt;Joe Williams is disappointed but philosophical after his recent, controversial draw in Sydney. Joe feels strongly that he won the fight but is happy to move forward with a six wins, one loss one draw, record. He's set up a rematch&amp;nbsp; with Jacques Hendrisson at Dubbo Sportsworld on March 31st . That wil be good to see. Go Joe. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/li&gt;

                &lt;li&gt;As a parent and grandparent I am horrified by the abundance of highly processed foods in the the average diet. I notice that some kids become so habituated to the taste of packaged foods that they equate that taste with "real food"--and don't like the taste and texture of fresh foods. Fortunately there are some great trends out there countering this. Programs like Live Life Well at school, Crunch and Sip and others such as "fruito breaks" are turning kids onto fresh food.&amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;
                &lt;a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qtUKmpPWEvU&amp;amp;feature=mfu_in_order&amp;amp;list=UL" target="_blank"&gt;See this months' iKiTip&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;- this really worked for my family. My wife and I were running our fitness centre and as we were working late most nights, struggled with being able to serve up a healthy meal every night. Some days it just wasn't possible to avoid fast food (after all, kids, being kids, will look for opportunities to get their favourite take away, and nagging a tired parent can be a great strategy. Our solution; throw together a tossed salad. Suddenly, a fatty pizza meal, accompanied by a big salad with fresh tomato, lettuce, herbs, cucumber, apple, mushrooms, red union - was transformed into a healthy, tasty meal. The best news is that it wasn't long before the kids were wanting salad with most meals.&lt;/li&gt;

                &lt;li&gt;Something I've noticed in my several years teaching is that when learning new things we tend to focus always on what we still can't do and therefore undervalue the distance we've come. Now is a good time to slow down and take stock, not of what we haven't yet achieved, but of what we have.&amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;

                    &lt;em&gt;Christmas and the holidays are a time when it's very easy to overindulge in the sweet and fatty foods that are everywhere. It's really easy to overindulge and end up feeling &amp;nbsp;lousy. But there are some simple steps we can take to keep some balance. Try these tips:&lt;br /&gt;
                    &lt;br /&gt;
                    &lt;/em&gt;&lt;/li&gt;
                    &lt;li&gt;
                    &lt;em&gt;Before every meal have a big drink of water.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/li&gt;
                    &lt;li&gt;&lt;em&gt;Fill you plate with fresh food first;- lots of salads, fruit and vegies help fill us &amp;nbsp;up and keep us feeling great.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/li&gt;
                    &lt;li&gt;&lt;em&gt;Never start or finish a meal with a sweet. Think about that last one. Start with savouries, salads fruits and finish with nuts, cheese, fruit. It works for me.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/li&gt;
                    &lt;li&gt;&lt;em&gt;Enjoy good food.&lt;/em&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;

                &lt;li&gt;Only 4 weeks till Chrissy. I hope everyone has achieved at least some of their goals for this year. Everyone I  talk to has the same message; - It has been a tough year, busy and demanding.&lt;br /&gt;
                So the agenda now is to get as many things finished as possible by Christmas and then take a well earned break. I know that when I think about all the things I want to get done, it can get a little panicky - till I remember a simple tip. Write a list. It's always  surprising how it makes for calm. And it feels great to tick them off.&lt;br /&gt;

                &lt;li&gt;Baradine iKiLive. We've always said we come home from Baradine tired but happy - and that was certainly true a couple of weeks ago after two big days that culminated in an iKiLive Concert. Baradine Central School has a number of young people who are showing great leadership skills. Throw away the rubbish and keep it fresh with fruit, yoghurt, custard or veggie sticks. Try crackers or crisp-bread with cheese, dips or spread, or make your own crackers out of toasted pita bread. My top pick for packaged foods: try low fat muesli or fruit bars, packet sultanas, or individual packets of Rice Wheels, Potato Stix, Vita Weat grain snacks, Sakata or popcorn. Yum!&lt;/em&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

I'm sure we all know this but it's great to see it in writing.                 &lt;li&gt;Sydney University, in conjunction with the Dubbo School of Rural Health is conducting a landmark longitudinal study into adolescents and need subjects- young people in Years 5, 6  or 7 at school. It actually sounds like a lot of fun (seriously) and rewarding. It involves a total commitment of only ,a few hours per year over 3 years, but includes cool rewards such as movie tickets, phone charges and other stuff that the kids will love.             Mitch brought a film crew to Dubbo during the month to shoot new stuff for the site and some final shots for the latest Gold and Green DVD. &amp;nbsp;We're releasing the DVD mid-June, with new songs and moves that you haven't seen before. &amp;nbsp;Jump online and pre-order yours now by &lt;a href="http://www.ikifit.com.au/ContactUs.html"&gt;clicking here&lt;/a&gt;. &amp;nbsp;You may have seen us in different locations around Dubbo doing some pretty hard core moves and drills. &amp;nbsp;We had a lot of fun, and the new website will feature an impressive trailer of these&amp;nbsp;&lt;span style="text-decoration: underline;"&gt;Blue and Red moves&lt;/span&gt;.&amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;
            &lt;br /&gt;
            Go online and start practicing the &lt;a href="http://ikifit.boswebsystems.com/flashplayer/LearnOnline_program.html"&gt;Gold and Green classes&lt;/a&gt;, and you'll be ready to take on the more difficult Blue and Red levels. These levels are martial arts and combat focused. &amp;nbsp;They are challenging, require a lot of energy, and extremely fun all at once.&lt;br /&gt;
            &lt;br /&gt;
            We also filmed an updated iKiTip. &amp;nbsp;This will be online with the revamped website soon, and will keep you equipped with simple messages on the little things you can do to live an empowered life.&lt;br /&gt;
            &lt;br /&gt;
            How much more can you fit into a month! &amp;nbsp;We just want to say a quick thank you to the very cool teachers at Brewarrina Central. We held an iKiTrainer Workshop in Bre just after Easter, and we were impressed by the enthusiasm and willingness from these guys. &amp;nbsp;We also spent productive and enjoyable days in both Baradine Central School and Coonabarabran. &amp;nbsp;The teachers and students there were positive and eager, and we are excited by their progress. &amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;
            &lt;br /&gt;
            We also have a special mention for Wellington Public School for their ongoing support of iKiFit, and also to St John's Dubbo for all their help, especially with the recent filming. &amp;nbsp;Thanks guys, you're awesome! &amp;nbsp;We'll be featuring new video soon of staff and students from St John's, so be sure to keep checking online. &amp;nbsp;In the meantime, check out the very cool &lt;a href="http://ikifit.com.au/iKiEvents/IkiLiveConcerts.html"&gt;iKiLive&lt;/a&gt; online now.&lt;br /&gt;

            I know I did.&amp;nbsp; I had chocolate energy to burn, but felt&amp;nbsp;that lying on the lounge all day, resting my overstuffed stomach might just be all I could manage.&amp;nbsp; The two don't really go hand-in-hand, I know, so I had to do something to get myself back into gear.&amp;nbsp; And here is the answer I have for all of you perhaps feeling the same way, and not quite sure how to motivate yourself to fire into work mode, let alone get through the day - a 10 minute iKiFit Energiser Class.&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;
            There's eight classes to choose from in the iKiFit Learn Online section of the website.&amp;nbsp; Each class has a warm up, a couple of songs to do a quick and revitalising workout to, and most have a stretch track as well.&amp;nbsp; After my chocolate overkill I sweated it out to Class Three.&amp;nbsp; Here, Pete takes you through your paces with The Reason, followed by Mitch and the energetic Best Shot.&amp;nbsp; It was awesome!&amp;nbsp; I highly recommend finding just 10 minutes in your day for an Energiser Class.&amp;nbsp; I felt invigorated, empowered, and was completely over Easter and all that chocolate by the end of it.&lt;br /&gt;

            &lt;span style="font-size: 14px;"&gt;For most of us school and work start back today. &amp;nbsp;The holidays once again came and went in a heartbeat. &amp;nbsp;We trust that you were all able to take some much needed rest and spend some quality time with your family over the Easter break.&lt;br /&gt;

            The holidays brought little reprieve for us here. &amp;nbsp;Tuesday 12 April we rocked it at the Dubbo Skate Park as a part of National Youth Week.&lt;br /&gt;
            iKiFit joined Dubbo Youth Council, Mission Australia, Housing NSW and The Basement Art Studio to bring DJ in the Park. &amp;nbsp;It was an awesome day with cool music, skating, art and of course iKiFit. &amp;nbsp;We performed a few moves and were certainly a little impressed by the tricks and stunts from the kids on their bikes, boards and scooters. &amp;nbsp;Double-back sommies and the like. &amp;nbsp;Pretty damn cool!&lt;br /&gt;
            &lt;br /&gt;
            So moving in to Term Two we have a lot on the agenda already. Round Four of the iKiTrainer Workshops is about to begin. We're excited to be heading to Brewarrina for our first workshop this Saturday, April 30 and then we're off to empower the city folk in Parramatta on May 23. &amp;nbsp;Then we are back in Dubbo for an iKiTrainer Workshop with Mission Australia on May 26. &lt;a href="http://www.ikifit.com.au/Instructors/workshopsignup.html"&gt;Register here&lt;/a&gt; if you're interested in attending yourself, or sending a team along to any of these workshops. &amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;

            Last month we left you with news Mitch would be in Dubbo filming the new Learn Online Content for Green Level. &amp;nbsp;Pete and Mitch worked on perfecting their techniques to ensure we could bring you first class training footage. &amp;nbsp;The boys endured a few long days at St John's Primary filming and fine tuning, and the new content is now up &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 14px;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.ikifit.com.au/flashplayer/LearnOnline_program.html"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 14px;"&gt;online&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 14px;"&gt; and will be out on DVD by the end of the month. &amp;nbsp;Thanks to St John's for the use of your hall, and an awesome effort put in by both Mitch and Pete! &amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;

            &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;Well February is here, and what a year Australians have had already. &amp;nbsp;Flooding of massive proportions, cyclone Yasi wreaking devastation in North East Queensland, bushfires in Western Australian and even here in Dubbo, and further out west, we've seen business' submerged and crops go under due to flooding. &amp;nbsp;Temperatures have soared into the 40s, and basically, Mother Nature has shown us the full force of her fury.&lt;br /&gt;
            &lt;br /&gt;
            But with all this calamity, one thing remains clear. We as Australians have proven our unity, our strength, and our resilience in times of hardship. &amp;nbsp;No matter where we live, we have stood together as a community. &amp;nbsp;We draw courage from the compassion displayed by our fellow countrymen, and I know that I'm not alone in never feeling more proud to be a part of this community that is Australia.&lt;br /&gt;

            We are all well into the swing of the new year now, and if you are like the team at iKiFit, you will be feeling very excited by the prospect of the what the year holds.&lt;br /&gt;

            iKiFit promotes capacity building and bringing positive change into schools and communities. &amp;nbsp;Essential to our own capacity building, we are thrilled to have received endorsement by &lt;a href="http://www.nswteachers.nsw.edu.au/"&gt;NSW Institute of Teachers&lt;/a&gt;. &amp;nbsp;This is integral to our overall strategy of distributing iKiFit into more schools and engaging isolated communities. &amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;
            &lt;br /&gt;
            The year ahead is looking bright and promising, with iKiFit set to achieve milestones a long time in the coming. &amp;nbsp;Last year we began the iKiCrew process with Housing NSW, and as a result we have employed Anthony Stanley as a trainee. &amp;nbsp;Anthony will be leading many of our classes along side Pete, and we are all very excited by his ability and commitment to iKiFit.&amp;nbsp;&lt;a href="http://www.ikifit.com.au/BlogRetrieve.aspx?BlogID=5764"&gt;(read more about iKiCrew)&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

            He said, "My son, the battle is between two dingos inside all of us.&lt;br /&gt;
            "One is Evil - it is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority and ego.&lt;br /&gt;

            U.S President, Jimmy Carter, stated,&lt;br /&gt;

            &lt;em&gt;A strong nation, like a a strong person, can afford to be gentle, firm, thoughtful and restrained.&amp;nbsp; It can afford to extend a helping hand to others.&amp;nbsp; It's a weak nation, like a weak person, that must behave with bluster and boasting and rashness and other signs of insecurity.&lt;br /&gt;
            &lt;/em&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
            In the world of geese the aged, very young and infirm are kept protected in the rear of the formation.&amp;nbsp; But they aren't isolated, discounted or considered useless; in fact they fulfill a vital role.&amp;nbsp; They become the "honking section" and cheer for those heading the formation - when the weather is bad or the flight gets tough.&lt;br /&gt;
            &lt;br /&gt;
            It would do us well to consider ourselves as the honking section for others around us, supporting with uplifting words, thoughts and actions.&amp;nbsp; To encourage one another and build each other up, without the desire for something in return, or the need to boast of our own abilities and achievements.&lt;br /&gt;
            &lt;br /&gt;
            Often, we will only enter relationships or interact with others when we feel we will get something out of it for ourselves.&amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;
            &lt;br /&gt;
            A relationship of any form should be somewhere you go to give.&amp;nbsp; Give of your time, your listening abilities and your positive attitude, and you will notice the difference you make to another.&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;
            &lt;br /&gt;

can go the distance.&amp;nbsp;When a bird flaps its wings the air movement created
provides an uplift, easing the workload of the bird behind it.&amp;nbsp;Together, their
flight range increases about seventy percent.&amp;nbsp;They accomplish together what they
can never accomplish alone.&amp;nbsp;There&amp;rsquo;s a lesson here:&amp;nbsp;apply their sense of
community to your own interactions with others, and consider if selfless
